On March 19, 2012, Harold Young Chaney, 59, of Bedford, departed this earthly life into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to forever be free of his crippled earthly body, to be able to walk and talk at last, throughout all eternity.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lacy Edmond Chaney and his mother, Easter May Likens Chaney and sister, Lois Chaney Leftwich.
Those left to cherish his memory are: brothers, Lacy Edmond Chaney, Jr and wife, Ann, of South Boston, VA, Herman Eugene Chaney and wife, Marjorie of Roanoke; sister, Lettie Perez, of Edinburg, VA, his beloved sister, who loved and cared for him for many years, Doris Simmons, of Moneta; sister, Sarah Hill and husband, Charles, of Vinton; many nieces and nephews and many friends, who know and loved him.
Those who were blessed to have known Harold and the condition in which he lived will never forget his wonderful smiles, his great attitude and how well he dealt with his confined life. He taught us many lessons and will be remembered by many people for his smile and greetings as they entered the Bedford County Nursing Home, where he resided for many years.
