Melvin Clyde Boothe, 79, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 4, 2012. He was a member of Emmanuel Wesleyan Church for 41 years. He dedicated his life to serving the Lord. He was a former employee of Hennis Freight Lines, and later was self-employed. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Madeline Boothe; sons and daughter-in-law, Jim and Glenna Boothe and Jeff Boothe and fiancée, Sherry Slusser; grandchildren, C.J., Aaron, Haley and Heather. The family would like to give special thanks to Jennifer Whorley for her loving care.
Funeral services will be held noon on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Oakey’s North Chapel, with Pastor Tom Boothe officiating. The interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Oakey’s North Chapel.
